One of my favorite decadent chocolate desserts

A delicious vegan dessert that satisfies that "gotta have chocolate" craving is also one of the ways I was able to kick my sugar addiction. I've been blessed with amazing people in my life that have been pivotal in transforming my life. The food you eat is crucial to how your body functions and more.
I first met Marie and Pedro at a Body Soul Spirit tradeshow where we both had booths. I was totally intrigued by this healthy, energetic couple that were demoing fresh pressed wheat grass.
They created the first vegan B&B and detox center in Saskatchewan.
The two of them first met at a health retreat they were attending, where they were being trained in detoxification, juicing and eating plant based. They were both so inspiring to learn from and each of them share their journey to healing their body and their life through their food journey. Marie told me how eating the raw desserts that Pedro made helped her to heal her gut and skin issues. How eating decadent chocolate in vegan cheese cake was equivalent to eating a mourishing meal and she shed pounds too. Well she had my attention!
Marie became one of my students and signed up for my 10 retreat and psychosomatic practitioner training.
She brought her plant based wisdom and everyone enjoyed the benefits of the plant based raw desserts and green juicing she shared with us. I've not looked back, that was over a decade ago.

I'm going to share one of my favorite versions of Decadent Chocolate that Marie used to make for me.
It's quick and easy to prepare and you'll love sharing it with others yoo.
You will need a few ripe avocados,
a pear or apple
I only use Cacao powder - not processed cocoa powder
maple syrup
vanilla extract
and a good pinch of pink Himalayan or celtic sea salt
optional coconut cream-if it's really thick adding some coconut cream makes it easier to blend
a few medjool dates=pitted and soaked
Simply blend all the ingredients together until smooth and creamy, I use my vitamix blender..
Don't get hung up on measurements. That's one of the benefits of this recipe, use what you have on hand and it's all about texture.
After it's all blended, place in a bowl to chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to let the flavors meld if you can wait that long. Don't leave in the blender to chill, once it hardens in there it's amess to get out.
The result is a rich and velvety chocolate mousse that is dairy-free, vegan-friendly and packed with healthy fats from the avocados.
Serve it with some whipped coconut cream for a truly indulgent dessert that will satisfy any sweet tooth.

Enjoy!
